Evangeline Paige Fielder & Chantry David Warden

High school sweethearts Paige and Chantry got engaged 11 years after meeting when Chantry proposed from the top of the lookout tower at Droop Mountain Battlefield State Park with a view of the mountains of Pocahontas County behind them. The couple was married at one of their favorite places: Valley View Farm in Lewisburg. The bride’s formfitting gown included a train and a long, lace-etched veil and was accessorized with cowboy boots.

A bouquet full of bright peonies and pearls completed her rustic, elegant look. The groom accented a pair of jeans with cowboy boots, a vest, and a tie. Right before the ceremony, light rain began to fall, but the sun came out just as the bride was escorted by her father down the aisle to the song “I Do” by Jessie James Decker. Paige and Chantry exchanged traditional vows in front of an arch covered with peonies and hydrangeas under dramatic clouds with a bright blue sky peeking through. During the reception—held inside a barn—a DJ greeted the guests and encouraged them to dance the night away.

The couple shared a first dance to the song “She Thinks She Needs Me” by Andy Griggs. For favors, the bride’s mother made apple butter to give to the guests along with personalized wedding koozies featuring the expression “Eat, drink, and be married.” The groom’s late grandmother’s handmade quilts were hung throughout the barn as decoration in her memory, making for a stunning venue.

Floral and burlap details adorned a two-tiered vanilla cake with buttercream icing. The groom’s cake was decorated with a fisherman and the quote, “The catch of his life.” The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Longboat Key, Florida. Paige is from Charleston and works for Thomas Health Systems, while Chantry is from Clendenin and works for Nitro Mechanical. The couple lives in Pinch.
